The 2024 Presidential election might be the most tense event in American politics. A mixture of dread and anticipation afflicts most Americans right now. I did say in my post about Venus Rx in Leo last summer that the last pass of Pluto in Capricorn was in 2023, but we do have one more round.  September 2nd to November 19th, 2024.

Right in time for the election. Pluto regressed back to 29 degrees of Capricorn will give us our last taste of what this Saturn-ruled sign idealizes: responsibility, tradition, gentrification, conservatism (veering towards Fascism) and structure.

Such ideals might make the political tides seem to favor Donald Trump, but that will likely not be enough to get him elected. We have already had a preview of Pluto in Aquarius in 2023 and most of 2024. The 29th degree of a sign is called anaretic, which comes from the Greek anaretikos, which means “destructive”.  It is the culmination of a sign’s energy, which is also considered a crisis point.

Looking at the natal charts of both Donald Trump and Kamala Harris, as well as the ephemeris for November 5th, 2024, there are some interesting points to observe. First, let’s look at Donald Trump’s chart.

I’ve mentioned the transit of Uranus in Taurus in other posts, but I believe it was one other post I mentioned Uranus conjunct Algol. You may want to read my post entitled “Algol” to better acquaint yourself with this fixed star.

All fixed stars reside at a particular point, by sign and degree. Algol is fixed at 26 degrees of Taurus, though a conjunction is still noteworthy within 2 degrees (24 to 28 degrees of Taurus).

Historically, transits to Algol in the natal chart or Algol’s conjunctions with other planets often involve “losing one’s head”, either literally or figuratively. Uranus as a planet is known for being erratic and unpredictable. With Uranus conjunct Algol, something unsettling is going to happen.

The astrology of July predicted something unusual and violent with Uranus and Mars conjunct the fixed star Algol. This transit was within 2 degrees of a conjunction from July 13th-16th, 2024. On July 13th, an assassination attempt was made on Donald Trump.

If we look at Trump’s natal chart above, we can see that the Midheaven, which marks the beginning of the 10th house of career, is at 24 degrees of Taurus.  Now, there is also a fixed star called Capulus at 24 degrees of Taurus, which alludes to the act of beheading Medusa in the myth of Perseus. I’m not going to veer off into mythology right now (again, read the Algol post for a bit more clarity), but both fixed stars involve trauma to the neck and head.

Transiting Mars and Uranus conjunct the natal Midheaven nearly guarantees something dramatic will happen. For example, Justin Timberlake has his Midheaven at 21 degrees Taurus. In late January/February of this year (2024), Britney Spears apologized for calling out Timberlake in her memoirs for having to abort his baby when the two dated earlier in their careers. This was a big blow to Timberlake’s public image (Midheaven/10th house). Uranus was at 19 degrees Taurus, within 2 degrees of Timberlake’s Midheaven.

Because Uranus stationed retrograde on September 2nd (weirdly, just as Pluto regressed back into Capricorn), Trump is going to get another pass of Uranus conjunct his Midheaven. It will be at 25 degrees of Taurus on November 5th. Mars won’t be part of the conjunction so violence isn’t likely, but something will shift in his career/public image.

Transiting Mars in Cancer will oppose transiting Pluto in Capricorn right before the election, so it’s likely something dramatic will erupt in global politics. Possibly the escalation of war. By the day of the election, Mars will have entered 0 degrees of Leo.

Something I find interesting is that the transiting south node in Libra will conjunct Trump’s natal Neptune on November 5th. Because the nodes transit so slowly, Trump is already experiencing this transit. Neptune transits often involve feeling confused and maybe burned out. Victimization can be part of it, but generally it can weaken one’s resolve and overall energy.

Weirdly, when Trump was elected in 2016, transiting Neptune was conjunct the transiting south node in Pisces. Mundane transits are harder to pinpoint, but it is interesting that Neptune had a hand in that election. Neptune is the master of illusion and fantasy. Things are not always what they seem.

Neptune conjunct the south node can feel like everything previously repressed is coming to the surface. That was how I viewed Trump getting elected. It was like he embodied a cancer diagnosis finally being revealed. Like this hyperbolized messenger for all that is dysfunctional and screwed up about America.

Trump was also having his Jupiter return (within 4 degrees) during the election in 2016 in his 2nd of house of finances and self-worth. Jupiter returns are usually auspicious. If the Great American eclipse of 2017 hadn’t landed on his ascendant, he may not have experienced this fall from grace over the last 4 years.

Transiting Jupiter in Gemini will conjunct his Sun in Gemini on November 5th, which might be fortuitous for him on some level.

Let’s now look at Kamala Harris’ chart:

Take a look at her 12th house. See anything familiar? Harris has natal Jupiter at 24 degrees Taurus, same as Trump’s Midheaven. Transiting Uranus conjunct natal Jupiter does seem a bit more fortuitous than having Uranus conjunct the Midheaven. Unless you’re up for some unusual or creative job promotion, Uranus on the Midheaven is just a little too unstable – particularly for a presidential career.

Transiting Mars will have also just entered 0 degrees Leo, which will tightly square Harris’ Mercury. This will likely make her more aggressive, which might be what the country wants at that time (particularly if war is suddenly escalating). It could make her too aggressive in her communication style, but she will have an air of authority that people will notice.

Because Trump has Venus in late Cancer as well as natal Saturn, he kind of personifies the Capricorn-Cancer axis. He is very paternalistic. We saw that during his inauguration speech, when he chose to have his son awkwardly stand on the stage with him instead of the First Lady.

But Mars in the late degrees of Cancer opposing Pluto just before the election might shatter aspects of Trump’s image. His whole “Make America Great Again” campaign was born out of that structural Capricorn-Cancer axis; positioning himself in the role of mother/father in government. It wreaks of Fascism by means of its desire for control, but there’s also that paternalistic side to his MAGA manifesto. Trump genuinely thinks he’s the daddy that knows best.

Mars will station retrograde in Leo in early December, so it will regress back into Cancer for the first few months of 2025. Pluto, however, will be solidly stationed in Aquarius from there on out.

Back to Harris. Transiting Saturn in Pisces will conjunct her natal Chiron in the 10th house of career. This might trigger wounds she has around her public image, but very possibly will give her an air of authority. The most noteworthy transit for Harris would be Jupiter transiting 20 degrees of Gemini conjunct her ascendant and north node. That’s a transit that draws positive attention to one’s image and future path. It’s hard to imagine her not winning with this transit.

One more point about Trump. Transiting Black Moon Lilith will conjunct his natal Chiron, which could result in a lot of expressed rage. Since this will happen in his 2nd house of self-worth, there might be some wilding out on Trump’s part. If he inappropriately expresses any misogyny or threats towards his adversaries, he will end up humiliating himself.

This is just astrological conjecture. I haven’t even addressed the issue that choosing either candidate isn’t exactly justifiable. One stands for xenophobic and transphobic conservatism, the other stands for war and genocide. It’s not at all ok. Because the behemoth national debt has turned the Neocons into warmongers, it looks like Kamala has this.

Pluto in Aquarius is set to change the paradigm. It might take 20 years, but a shift is coming.
